The EPR facility housed in the Department of Chemistry encloses state-of-the-art CW and pulse EPR and ENDOR instruments operating at X-band (9.5 GHz) and Q-band (34 GHz) frequencies, in the temperature range 4K-300K
The pulse EPR equipment operating at X-band (9.5 GHz) and Q-band (34 GHz) frequencies, has been installed in 2008 funded by the Compagnia di San Paolo, the NIS Centre of Excellence and the University of Torino, providing a state-of-the-art facility for use by chemists, biochemists and physicists at the University of Torino as well as other members of the scientific community. The instrument is equipped with a nanosecond Vis-IR tunable OPO laser AURORA II (Litron) and a cryogen-free cryostat able to cover the 1.8 - 300 K temperature range.
The CW-EPR equipment (X-band EMX Bruker) equipped with a set of UV-Vis light sources for in situ irradiation in either poly or monochromatic form.
X-band CW-EPR Instrumentation mainly davoted to radicals in solutions and Spin Trapping.
The long experience in the field of solid state EPR spectroscopy has led to the development of systems dedicated to the study of solids and solid-gas interfaces.
